Trine is Introducing a New Environmental Science Degree

Trine University has recently launched a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science degree program, leveraging its strong foundation in the sciences and engineering. The program aims to equip students with the skills needed to comprehend and address the environmental challenges that our planet faces. Classes for this new program will begin in August.

The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science will be housed within Trine’s Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences and is designed to prepare students for careers in a variety of related fields, such as environment, law, health and safety, and public policy. According to Lexie Staten, dean of the Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences, the program focuses on improving the health of our planet and its inhabitants. She emphasizes the importance of training professionals who can collect, analyze, and interpret data related to environmental issues.

Graduates of this degree program will be well-prepared for roles in governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies. They can pursue careers as environmental or conservation scientists, environmental educators, lawyers, environmental policy analysts, or environmental health and safety specialists. The program aligns with the projected job growth in the field over the next decade as forecasted by the Bureau of Labor Services.
