Science Symposium: Navigating the Advancements in Food and Nutrition Sciences

Keynote Speaker from FDA Deputy Commissioner at IAFNS Fourth Annual Summer Science Symposium

In June 2024, nutrition and food scientists from various fields will gather at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. for the Institute for the Advancement of Food and Nutrition Sciences’ (IAFNS) Fourth Annual Summer Science Symposium. The event will bring together experts from government, industry, academia, and media organizations to discuss a range of topics in nutrition and food science.

Some of the sessions that will be held at the symposium include artificial intelligence (AI) in food safety and nutrition, food and mood, food classification systems, heavy metals in foods, dry sanitation, global stances on sweeteners, and more. The keynote presentation on Tuesday, June 4 will be delivered by U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Deputy Commissioner of Human Foods, Jim Jones. The evening reception on June 4 will provide attendees with an opportunity to network and engage with colleagues in the field.
