Hatton and Smith Selected for College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team

Two outstanding student-athletes, Langdon Hatton and Billy Smith, have been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team. This team recognizes individuals who excel both on the court and in the classroom.

Langdon Hatton, a junior data science major at Bellarmine University, had an impressive season with averages of 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He also achieved five double-doubles during the season, including a standout performance against Kennesaw State where he scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. In addition to this honor, Hatton was also named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team.

On the other hand, Billy Smith had a solid debut season after transferring from Miami (OH). He averaged 5.8 points per game and shot 34.6 percent from three-point range. His season-high was a 17-point game against Berea on December 7th. Like Hatton, Smith met the requirements for consideration for the CSC Academic All-District Team, which include maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 and appearing in a certain percentage of games.

Both Langdon Hatton and Billy Smith are outstanding examples of how student-athletes can balance their academic pursuits with their sports commitments. Their achievements on the court are impressive, but it is their dedication to their studies that sets them apart as true role models for others to follow
