Global Leaders Unite at New York Summit to Tackle Extreme Poverty, Food Insecurity, and Climate Change

Michelle Yeoh to attend Global Citizen NOW summit alongside business and political leaders in the fight against poverty

On May 1st and 2nd, New York will host a summit organized by Global Citizen. The event will bring together political, business, and philanthropic leaders from all over the world to address extreme poverty-related issues such as food insecurity, climate change, and public health.

Some of the notable figures attending the summit include Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi, and Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg. Other attendees include actors Hugh Jackman, Danai Gurira, Dakota Johnson, and representatives from companies such as Cisco, Citi, Delta, and PayPal.

The summit will feature discussions led by individuals like Rockefeller Foundation President Rajiv Shah, Bezos Earth Fund CEO Andrew Steer, and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk. Gurira has expressed her commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices, particularly those from the African continent.
