Bango honors victors of Racine elementary school’s Fresh Air Science Fair

A group of fifth graders at Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine recently took part in a nearly two-month long Fresh Air Science Fair. The event, which began on February 1st, saw students working together to create projects that showcased their understanding of clean air pollution concepts. Each entry was evaluated based on the quality of research, data analysis and creativity of presentation.

The award ceremony for the science fair took place on Wednesday, March 27th, with special guests in attendance including Milwaukee Bucks mascot Bango and the trampoline dunking team, the Rim Rockers. During the ceremony, the winning teams were announced and prizes were awarded. The first-place team members received an exciting prize package that included three tickets to the April 10 Bucks game against the Orlando Magic, transportation to and from the game and concession stand vouchers to use at Fiserv Forum during the game. The second and third-place winning teams also received Bucks merchandise as a token of their achievement.

The Fresh Air Science Fair is a collaborative effort between Modine, Milwaukee Bucks, Racine Unified School District and United Way of Racine County. This partnership provides students with an opportunity to explore important scientific concepts in a fun and engaging way. Congratulations to all the participants of this year’s Science Fair!
