A Trailblazer in Health Sciences: Recognizing Tim Dunnagan’s Legacy as Dean of the College of Health Sciences

Dean Dunnagan from the College of Health Sciences to be Recognized on April 10th

The College of Health Sciences is honoring Tim Dunnagan, who will be stepping down as dean after 14 years of service, with a recognition reception on Wednesday, April 10 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Stueckle Sky Center’s Bronco Zone. During his tenure as the fifth dean of the college, Dunnagan led significant growth and expansion for the institution.

Under his leadership, the college has nearly doubled in size and launched three doctoral programs. Additionally, various programs have been created and expanded, including online offerings, a genetic counseling path, and multiple certificates designed for working professionals. Dunnagan established an advisory group comprised of current and retired CEOs and leaders in the healthcare industry to provide feedback and guidance on course development and major selection.

After his departure as dean, Dunnagan will take on the role of special assistant to Provost John Buckwalter, focusing on new academic programming in health sciences. Joelle Powers has been appointed as his successor as the first female dean of the College of Health Sciences.
